National TSA Week is a perfect opportunity for you and your chapter to raise awareness of TSA in your school and community and to showcase activities and accomplishments. With the hard work that we all do to lead in a technical world, October 1-5, 2018 is dedicated to us, the members of Tennessee TSA. Here are three ways you can dedicate yourself to TSA:
1. Follow Social Media Daily Themes
An easy way for your chapter to celebrate is on social media by by following the themes for each day of National TSA Week. Make sure to use the official 2018-19 National TSA hashtag #OneTSA in all of your posts. Need help starting a chapter Instagram account? Check out this post!
2. Work Hand-in-Hand with your Local Middle/High School Chapters
If you have a local middle or high school TSA chapter that isn’t affiliated with your own, a wonderful way to network with each other is to set up a meeting to get to know each other, share ideas, and participate in a question-and-answer session for new, interested members! Additionally, consider visiting an elementary school together to lead an event for younger STEM students, such as an age-appropriate STEM activity or a day-camp fundraiser to benefit your chapters!
Working with your local chapters could also serve as a fundraising benefit or a way to give back to your community (i.e organizing food/clothing drives to benefit those who are in need in your community.)
3. Show Appreciation for your Chapter Advisor
With something as simple as a thank-you card, hug, or special shoutout to your advisor during your school’s announcements, send a thank you to your advisor for all they do. This is an excellent step to benefit your advisor in addition to the National TSA Advisor Appreciation Week.
