As the new year begins, it becomes more and more important to spread the word of TSA and reach out to your community. Through service projects and fundraisers, you can take your chapter to the next level. Here are some ideas to help you get your started:
1. Use Your Local Representatives
To find out ways to assist your community, get in contact with your city’s officials and ask questions! By asking, you are opening many doors of opportunity for your chapter’s service projects. When you start these connections with your community, you may even find more networking chances!
2. STEM at the Elementary Level
If you have an elementary school in your area, think about opportunities where you can go and speak to their students about STEM. At these exhibits, you can demonstrate your robotics team or a simple hands on problem-solving activity to get them interested. Starting or assisting in an after school club at this level, could also provide students with a foundation for their future in TSA and STEM careers.
3. Food Drive
Another easy way to get your chapter out there is to participate in a local food drive. Not only is this a great time for your members to help your local community, but this is a great opportunity for some chapter bonding.
As a result of these endeavors, your chapter can thrive in this school year, in teamwork, connections, and membership. Feel free to contact a state officer if you have any questions or need help getting started!
