With regionals conferences finished, it is time to begin to prepare for State Conference! To make sure you are competition ready, there are a few things you must look out for.
In the next few weeks, your advisor will receive the judges sheets from your regional events. On this page, you will be able to see what your scores were from state. Divided into categories on the judging rubric, you will get a rundown on exact areas that can be improved. This feedback is beneficial in learning what more you can do to push yourself for the win.
Keep an eye on the National TSA website and the TN TSA website for updates on your competitive events. Here, you might see minor changes being released for your event guidelines. This includes LEAP, dimensions, and toolkits, so keep watch!
After cramming for regionals, this in-between time is also fantastic for updating your LEAP resume. Use this time wisely to go out in your community and tutor, volunteer, or lead a group to enhance not only what your can write down, but also what you talk about in the interview. While LEAP can be tedious, developing these leadership skills are important for your future.
When you start getting ready for State Conference in April, remember to look back at those judging sheets, the websites for updates, and revisit your LEAP resumes. After checking off all of these boxes you will be ready to head off to Chattanooga and take the stage!
