Whether you are fresh out of elementary school or a rising senior, the new school year comes with many exciting challenges. From new classes and college applications, to fall sports and a new TSA season, remember that planning is essential to success.
Recruiting new members may seem like a difficult task. My advice is to recruit new members from career and technical classes. Many TSA events align with skills learned in classes such as computer science or cybersecurity. Students in these classes are dedicated and would be great additions to a TSA chapter!
Meeting with Chapter Officers
At the beginning of each new TSA season, the chapter officers should meet to plan and organize the upcoming year. The officers should discuss recruitment, events, and conferences. Planning in advance is helpful because it helps your members stay prepared throughout the year.
At the beginning of the school year, it is important to inform the members of your chapter of the American Cancer Society fundraising. There are many levels of fundraising to support ACS. Your chapter can fundraise within your school to give back. Also, prepare your members for the ACS fundraising at the TN TSA State Conference.
Enjoy the new school year! Remember, TSA is a great outlet to express your interests and enjoy healthy competition. Have fun this year!
